I spent all of this afternoon fixing my knitting for knitting guild tomorrow. I also read a book about the Pope called Pope John Paul II the Life and Times. He was an amazing man! I also read a little about the Fsmily, a secretive sect with a house in Arlington, Virginia. My sister Laurie called me from Miami she was in the airport. The book about the Pope shows him kissing a newborn baby! It's so cute! I'm reading his homilies and addresses to the United Nations General Assembly about human rights. He was a great writer I think I'll get some more of his books on my Kindle then I can read his homilies. My phone says I missed a call maybe it was the people from Dell who called earlier. I had a little trouble with my computer today but I solved it. Pope John Paul wrote a bunch of books including "Crossing the Threshold of Hope" and some poetry. He was the first Pope to apologize to the Jews for their persecutions and prayed at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. He had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed to her at Lourdes and Fatima. It was a geat tragedy when he was almost assassinated by that crazy Turk, Mehmet Ali Agca. The Pope had Parkinson's Disease and some problems caused by surgery after the assassination attempt. He met with many world leaders including Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, the Queen and Charles and Diana. I'm looking at the picture of Charles and Diana right now. They are holding cards it looks like he was giving them something and they were giving him something. He was a remarkable man for the longest time he was the only Pope that I was a Catholic under until he died. Then we had a memorial service for him at St. Francis Xavier Church and we all miss him. Pope Benedict is a shy man, very smart, but he's not Pope John Paul II.
