Bombings and terrorist attacks
Well, we've certainly had our share of bombing and terrorist attacks lately, haven't we? There was the Jordanian bomber, the Nigerian who tried to blow up a plane on Christmas Day, the Fort Hood massacre, and maybe other attacks as well. The Taliban is holding parts of Pakistan as well as Afghanistan. There is a report from the Associated Press today about a video that links the Jordanian bomber, Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi to the deadly bombing in Khost province in Afghanistan. It's one of the worst attacks in the history of the CIA. He turned out to be a double agent. The CIA had hoped to obtain information about al-Qaida's second-in command Ayman al-Zawahri, so they approached him. CIA Director Leon Panetta said the bomber was about to get searched before the blast occurred. This bombing occurred on December 30. Crazy, crazy world, huh?
