Well the Olympics are over. The closing ceremony was beautiful. The news about the earthquake in Chile was awful with 708 people killed, looting and such going on and all of this horrible stuff going on. The President is having talks about nuclear weapons and wants to eliminate nuclear weapons forever! There is a picture in the New York Times of a creek in Alabama called Avondale Creek into which a pipe maker dumped oil, lead and zinc. A court ruled that the Creek was exempt from the Clean Water Act. It's hampering the EPA's ability to enforce environmental laws, and that's really bad. I'll be watching tapes of the Olympics in the days and weeks ahead, it's time to end this blog post for tonight. I'll be watching Joannie and Yu Na Kim and all of other skaters from the Olympics soon.
